Insurance Broker Association Urging Members to Start HIPAA HITECH Compliance

I was demonstrating our solution to an insurance broker and among her comments was the revelation that their association who she didn't name but I suspect is PIA had recommended that they get started on compliance.  I know that the announcement that OCR was delaying releasing the rules gave hope to the folks still in denial but the fact is that this is pretty normal with these agencies.

Compliance is a process and the sooner you start the better off you are.  First, from a business standpoint you can market yourself as a compliant broker and prove it with our Compliance Meter ^tm.  Secondly if you need to make any internal process changes you have a longer runway to prepare and implement these changes.  Third, we find that companys that commit to privacy and security broadcast an important message to their staff and their clients; That they respect and defend the privacy of their clients and their clients patients.
